What is an Air Plant?

Air plants are epiphytes that grow on other plants in nature, usually on tree branches. Air plants usually have narrow, strap-shaped or lance-like leaves that grow in a rosette pattern with new growth appearing from the center. They absorb nutrients and water from the air through scales on their leaves and don’t need soil to grow.
